About Korean American Medical Association

Founded on October 23, 1974, the Korean American Medical Association(KAMA) was established by representatives of three U.S. regions – New York City, Washington D.C. And Chicago – with most number of Korean physicians first as the Korean Medical Association of America (KMAA), of which name later became KAMA in 1993.

Our mission is to positively influence and impact the Korean American medical community nationally and internationally through academics, mentoring, networking and global health.

Our Goals
- To unite physicians of Korean heritage nationally and internationally through scientific collaboration and social networking and institutional partnerships (KMA, KAMS, KHA, and Korean Health and Ministry Department)
- To increase KAMA membership via KAMA’s regional chapters
- To foster the development of future Korean American (KA) physicians by supporting KAMSA and KAMRAF
- To provide the national Korean American physician voice on pertinent healthcare issues via KAMA’s AMA delegate seat
- To impact the global community via participation in global healthcare activities
